1. Who RevailLab is for

RevailLab is designed for adults who want to know whether a song they’re hearing or sharing was made by AI. Typical users include:

• Music journalists and critics fact-checking claims.
• Record-label A&R verifying demos.
• Curious listeners sorting out AI tracks from human ones on streaming services.
• Researchers studying AI-generated media.
• Anyone who saw something trending and wants a second opinion.

2. Why the 3+ rating and the 18+ target don’t contradict

Content rating and target audience measure two different things:

• IARC content rating measures whether the content inside the app is appropriate. RevailLab has no violence, no nudity, no profanity, no gambling, no mature themes, no user-generated content, no chat — nothing that would raise the rating above “Everyone”.
• Target audience measures who the app is designed for. Our answer is 18+ adults because the use case is adult-practical, and because we want to be outside the scope of Google Play Families Policy and Apple’s Kids category — both of which have restrictions (e.g., no personalised ads) that would make the app unsustainable as a free, ad-supported product.

A “3+ for content, 18+ for target” combination is common for music-reference and productivity tools. It signals “nothing inside will upset younger users, but the app isn’t something children are looking for”.

3. What the app contains

• A screen to paste music links and see whether they’re AI-made.
• A microphone button to scan audio playing nearby.
• A local-only history of your scans.
• A daily reminder notification (optional, configurable).
• Google AdMob banner, interstitial, app-open, and rewarded ads.
• An “About” page explaining what the app can and can’t do.

4. What the app does NOT contain

• No violence — cartoon, fantasy, or realistic.
• No sexual content or nudity.
• No profanity, crude humour, or mature themes.
• No horror or fear content.
• No gambling — simulated or real-money.
• No alcohol, tobacco, or drug references.
• No user-generated content. Users cannot publish, chat, or broadcast anything. The app processes your audio and returns a private result to you only.
• No unrestricted web access. The app talks only to its own backend (analysis), Firebase (analytics & crash reporting), AdMob (ads), and Apple’s iTunes Search API (for Apple Music preview URLs). It cannot be used to browse arbitrary web pages.
• No location or contact data collection.

5. Ads

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. We have configured AdMob to return Family-Friendly content only (max content rating: PG) by default. Users who decline App Tracking Transparency (iOS) or UMP consent (Android/EU) still see ads, but non-personalised ones — never more intrusive.

We cannot guarantee the creative of every individual ad — that is Google’s responsibility — but AdMob’s policy enforcement means ads you see in RevailLab will be the same calibre as ads in any other 3+ rated app on the Play Store / App Store.

6. For parents and guardians

If a younger person in your household uses RevailLab:

• Their scan history stays on their device only — nothing is uploaded to a server tied to a person.
• They cannot communicate with other users through the app — there is no chat, comments, or forum.
• They cannot make in-app purchases — there are none in v1.
• The optional “Support development” button plays a rewarded ad but unlocks nothing — so there’s no hidden pressure to watch ads to access features.
• You can uninstall the app to erase every piece of local data — there is nothing server-side to follow up on.
